"Instructor engagement "
"The Autism Characteristics and Strategies training was very informative with lots of examples and discussions. The boundary invasion training was well presented, despite dry information. "
"I appreciated the autism content"
"I feel more prepared and better informed on what steps to follow in case of emergency at my School."
"Relevant "
"I don't think I've ever written comments before...but these presenters were so top-notch incredible, I can't help but rave! *Nancy Navarro-Ortiz* gave an incredible talk about our Migrant Education program, highlighting the people she/they/we serve with such compassion and pride--I was deeply moved and grateful for the amazing work they're doing! *Domonique Vega Wells* along with (I think it was *Alexis (Lexi) Dasilva*?) and *Lisa Eshwig* facilitated an excellent training for "Understanding Autism: Characteristics and Strategies for Challenging Behavior". I've already begun thinking of ways to implement what they shared in my daily supervisory role. They touched on the important subject matter with essential ideas for everyone; from the most novice learner to those seasoned paraprofessionals who have taken many workshops--they stood out among the very best in all my years as a para--I was thoroughly impressed!"
"Movement of classrooms"
"Personable instructors, they shared personal examples."
"Loved the autism course "
"very useful training"
"really useful topics this time"
"Inspiring "
"Migrant Lifestyle and Understanding Autism were useful and very informative. "
"I thought the sessions on autism and migrant students were very well put together and the instructors were very knowledgeable. I appreciated the personal stories - they helped me understand the challenges and families and students are dealing with. "
"I enjoyed the way the instructors taught the content. "
"Everything was good"
"I really appreciated the migrant lifestyle class as well as the boundary invasion class. Both speakers were well prepared and did a great job with their materials. Both classes were engaging and informative. The autism class didn’t offer any new material, if you’ve been around a while, but I thought the first speaker was excellent. She brought the unique perspective of being a mom of a child on the spectrum along with her BCBA experience."
"The teaching on Migrant student and families was insightful and useful knowledge. The training on boundaries with HR is always relevant to review. I appreciate having trainings on school safety."
"The topics covered were relevant to the workplace setting that I work with."
"The instructors were very informed on the topics and it was great to learn from their experience and expertise. Everyone was also very open to individual questions."
"The information is useful."

Suggestions:
Responses: 37"None"
"Some of the presentations seem to be longer than needed"

"Facilities should be appropriate size for the number of attendees, not too big or too small."
"N/A"
"Training about safety was boring just a bunch of talking as well as migrant training. We watched videos we could have done that asynchronous not in person. Time ran out on safety training. No interaction in safety and migrant training. "
"Nothing"
"It would have been helpful if people whose names were not on the list, were told which groups would have an elementary focus and which ones would have a secondary focus. Also, it would have been nice if 2 more tables could have been in the library for our session."
"None"
"This training should have been held via zoom."
"I believe that training time for paraprofessionals working in special education would be better spent focusing on strategies and receiving input about the individual students we support. I didn’t feel that the training helped us further develop our skills in this department and the unique cases that we work with. I think trainings on how the entire school works together to ensure a healthy and safe school as a whole would be beneficial. "
"The presentation on school safety was interesting but it would have been more effective to use scenarios around school disaster situations. Maybe examples of what we have learned from previous school shootings and emergency situations. How we can respond, chain of command and what to expect from the district and emergency agencies. What are the best practices for staff during an emergency. I did get the message to move through the denial stage and act."
"The BCBA's needed to provide a copy of each slide so that it was easier to follow along and we would have space to write notes. They only had some of the slides so it was very confusing to figure out what they were talking about. For the safety class, we needed to do more practical scenarios as if we were in unsafe situations inside the building. Less videos. "
"No suggestions. Well maybe a bigger space than the high school library it was kinda crowded."
"More interaction between peers to break up the teaching (one of my sessions had that for autism, the rest did not.)"
"None"
"Denial, Deliberation and Decisive Moment training would have been more useful if it was more specific to school/classroom situations. I only found the last 5 minutes applicable and useful."
"None"
"do not do break outs in auditorium, and please any sessions rooms with windows"
"more training"
"The area in the library that was set up was too small of an area for all of us. "
"COFFEE!!!"
"No lunch and work straight "
"More interaction. More handouts."
"Maybe not use the library for presentation"
"Not as long, and more interactiveness "
"None"
"Use less videos to present information, the main points and engagement is lost when this is the main format for the presentation of materials. "
"The security training didn’t seem to have a clear purpose that was relevant to my job"
"Maybe for the first two trainings more opportunitys for discussion."
"It would be nice to get the slides to each training so we can review the information when we need a refresher of the information. "

"have a more clear schedule or have someone remind us which groups go to whivh areas"
"Having more note taking for certain subjects that are more applicable for staff who work with students, rather than just lecture. "
"Maybe more tangible instructions and guidelines rather than theoretical applications - ie maybe working through real-life scenarios or past issues people in the school district have encountered - “what to do in ____ situation” - review what was done, why correct/incorrect etc (in regard to IEP plans, discord among staff, or safety protocols such as shootings)"
"Try to provide more time for lunch."

"Why wasn't the "elephant in the room" not addressed during the migrant worker presentation? It seemed like the presentation was one that reflected the reality of a year ago. Life has changed in the last several month for migrant families, especially with many new executive orders. I am not trying to make a political statement, but I care about the hearts of the students in the school system and I was wondering why their fears and the implications of current changes was not even mentioned."

"Very much enjoyed Tom's presentation and how he shared his experiences and the information and knowledge he has acquired over the years. It was information regarding active shooting and practically ways to handle those situations, train your brain to be ready, and structurally how buildings and walls work. Hoping to never be in that situation, but I have never had that topic explained or shown to me as well as Tom did. "
