"Betsy, Brittany, and Amber are always professional, personable, and prepared with high-quality training. From my viewpoint, they've done more to move WSD forward academically than anything else in my (almost) decade here. I greatly appreciate their leadership and their focus on current, research-based practices. "

Suggestions:
Responses: 15"I often feel like these sessions are too rushed. So much information was shared at such a rapid pace. Also, so many handouts..."

"Despite presenter's efforts, it really didn't feel much different than the first round. Would love to have heard something that really felt new, especially how to get students who are not motivated for various reasons to participate. Offering them the opportunity to practice RWSL with structured activities doesn't mean they take advantage of it."

"Still needs to be more high school level"
"more application"
"Less time spent in small group discussion and more in large group discussion"

"Take the list of teaching strategies to focus on from in building evaluations vs general teaching practices - more need based."
"There was too much time spent reviewing and the intro / entry task did not feel useful. Otherwise the information was helpful."

"There were some good points and discussion, but many of us are already using these strategies and feel our time would better be spent in PLCs. Also, taking an hour to review what we talked about last time was FAR too long. "
"Feels like a rehashing of prior content. I think we may need something new or different. Additionally, high school level needs its own tools, strategies and scaling. We should consider more focus on training to use the knowledge with content. For example, instead of reading a Hattie et al article, let’s break into content teams and break down/level content with the strategies you’re sharing."

"I know students need time to process, but can you share ideas for quicker assessments? In 50 minutes, spending 10-15 minutes on an exit activity is difficult. In addition, looking these over or scoring for 130-150 students is obviously not doable on a regular basis."

Comments:
Responses: 15"Well done presentation. The concepts were modeled by the team continually throughout the presentation and it was a great visual for me."
"From the conversations at the table where I sat, it's clear that there seems to be a disconnect between what our leadership/presenters feel the PLCs need and what the teachers in the PLCs feel they need. Even the most willing participants at the table were struggling to some degree with this. It needs to be so easy for the diverse content areas to see connections as to how these concepts can add value and be applied in their instruction. What does structured reading and writing look like in math? In PE? In music? In world language? etc."

"spending time talking about how PLC's run for teachers was not a useful way to spend our time since our PLC runs a lot differently since are related service providers for Special Education and not classroom teachers - spending an hour being required to go over what PLC's are and do and then doing a team building exercise was not super helpful for an already strong team "
"Thank you!"
"Thanks! Great job."
"I appreciate the work and positive attitude of our presenters. Thank you."

"Excellent workshop. I really enjoy these presentations because, in addition to presenting informative material that helps me understand reasons my students may struggle, there is always a strategy I can implement into my teaching. Kudos to the presenters!"
"I appreciate that it ended a little early and the energy the presenters brought with them."
"Thank you for your work and leadership!"
