"The morning SEL time with our school was a great use of our time. We were able to share what we are currently doing and reviewed other options for enhancing our SEL teaching strategies."
"Team collaboration at the school was most beneficial"
"The morning time in our own buildings talking and learning more about SEL was really the best part of the day. This was the most engaging and useful time."
"Tools, opportunities for group discussion, planning time"
"Good content. I'm excited to refresh my Break Box and space."
"I enjoyed having opportunity to interact with my colleagues, to have an open platform to share, and to hear about how to design break spaces. "
"The information was relevant and I think it will benefit student learning."
"The morning SEL training had some good ideas, reminders, suggestions. It allowed for time to share ideas with colleagues. I appreciated the reminders about teaching the break spot. The part about assessing math fluency was helpful. "

"The Math Fact Fluency at the convention center had several issues. The wifi couldn't keep up with the demand of all teachers trying to access the material. Creating games there was not a good use of our time. It would have been more valuable to have team time or district grade level time to work."
"The wifi at the Convention Center was very poor and made using the internet almost impossible. The training lost a lot because of it. Maybe find a different location."
"More planning and work time with team members to implement what we learned."
"I am frustrated with this PD day. For SEL in the morning, I feel that the Whole Child series is great information for new teachers. However for those of us who have been teaching more that 15 years, we already know these strategies that are helpful in the classroom. A better use of our time would have been working collaboratively to determine universal tools for the Zones, or creating common break space materials and resources to use within our grade level. I was very frustrated with the training. The afternoon was worse. The trainer has good knowledge of the materials, however the internet would not let us load the drive. She spent much of the training lecturing and it was very hard to follow. It was not a good use of time. A better use of time would be collaborating wiht my team around math and determining supplemental resources to use with our curriculum. It was a frustrating day."
"For the math fluency session, it would be really nice to make it more interactive and possibly separate K-2 and 3-5"
"Have a Break Box item ready to pass out at the training... Even a free item like a printed book or page for students."

"Assign work only if there is working internet. I would prefer to have the content given to me and then be release to go back to my classroom to implement. Please plan these professional development days on the same time frame as our usual work day. I"

"Would there ever be an opportunity to let teachers choose their own PD on these districts days so that we can receive PD that is more relevant and applicable to our own grade levels? Why is the time of these trainings different from our contracted time (7:30-3:00)?"

"PD days like this one are the reason that the district has low attendance on these optional days. "
"It would be very nice if training days matched our normal working days. Going until 4:00 is not ideal."
