"Content of the training was great!"
"Great presenters, with knowledge of the subject. This is motivating as it is a district initiative. The material taught can be used right away. "
"There were some great visuals and anchor charts! Also, great review of phonology, orthography, and morphology!"
"The content of the class is great and something our elementary students need, for sure. "
"Great content and it will help greatly in class."
"Very thoughtful and organized presentation."
"Rationale and science research behind reading was helpful in understanding the WHY in what we are doing."
"Great way of presenting immediate action strategies. "
"practice time, written materials"
"A lot of new knowledge when it comes to Literacy. I am very excited to implement all of these new strategies in order to help all of my students read! "
"Thank you for: -- showing us the routines. --providing time for us to practice the routines during this session immediately after you showed them. --less preaching and more content --time to process with cross town buddies "
"I thought the information was good, but I don't feel that I am even remotely ready to start teaching these strategies in my class. I think there was a lot of info and not a lot of time to get it all. I am still excited about some of these strategies though. "

"Providing a stronger: here's what the routine could look like in action from beginning to end would have been helpful. "
"spend less time trying to convince of the 'why' of this training (first two hours felt like a sales pitch), and just get started showing me the 'how'"
"Please bring all worksheets or materials to trainings because when you talk about them or show them on the slide and we don't have them it's hard to take notes and remember how to correctly use them. "
"It would have been helpful to see the progression of the entire 60 minute block in an actual model lesson. Some of the the bulleted items on the list were vague and lacking detailed descriptions. "
"I wish the goals for the day would have been more firmly addressed at the beginning. By the end of the day there was still a lack of clarity as to how we would incorporate this into our day. It was said that we would spend 60 minutes a day doing the routine, when will students respond to reading and complete rigorous writing pieces?"
"More time"
"Please add new members to the drive. Thank you!"
"Could have been a half day training. Morning felt like more of a "sell" about why the WSD is on board with Impact Training. Second half is when we got the actual training of what we are doing."
"More time to process and ask questions would be ideal."
"A bigger space for that many people would be helpful. I felt crowded all day. "
"more practice time"
"I feel that these training is something new. Nothing we've ever seen before. IT would be nice to continue to learn and practice more if it in the near future. "
"--Keep giving time to practice the routines. --Spend more time on the big picture of where these foundational skills fit in with comprehension and the full block of instruction. --Needing to see more about sentence dictation, syllable mapping and what the rest of the routines in the 90 minute block look like. "

"What further training will be provided? Materials? Time?"
"What content (words, vocabulary, affixes, etc.) will we use to implement the routine? Will it be cross curricular from our science and social studies, teacher created, Wonders driven? When will this be decided and passed onto teachers? Will we get more training to learn how to fully implement the routine, if it's expected that we do this 60 minutes a day next year?"
"I was told there might be an opportunity to become a trainer, Is this correct?"
"Is this replacing intervention time, or an addition to? When will more training be offered. "
"I am still unsure of many things. When is the next training happening? "
"none"

"Great class! I'm looking forward to learning more! "
"The first hour of the course felt like a sales pitch. "
"I love knowing that we are looking at how to instruct and create stronger readers in our district, however I feel like this was rushed and thrown at us without much direction as to where we're really going next year, and this year, for that matter. I would like to know what the bigger picture of this is and how we're expected to add 60 minutes of this routine into the rigorous reading and writing required by the Common Core State Standards for the 4th grade."
"Great program."
"I will need more support and modeling to continue forward. I do plan on practicing syllable and morphology mapping with my students. I do not have enough core time for my students to access the whole routine. As a fourth grade teacher the amount of time allotted for daily instruction (60 min) using the impact literacy framework is not very reasonable. The stories in the lock and key books are much more lengthy than the primary stories and the strategies are more intense and need more focus and instructional time. "
"Thank you! I've already used some of what I learned."
"Excellent training! I learned so much! Thank you! "
"I feel like 4th grade may have gotten the best training of all of the grades when talking with other grade levels. I really worry about how to get everyone on the same page with this new program especially when lots of people, especially in grades before ours, are feeling very negative towards it. "
