You must register and evaluate this course to earn clock hours in addition to completing your training. If you have already taken these Safe School modules in the past, you are unable to claim them again for additional CCDEI clock hours.

This five session course will:

1. Provide staff with an awareness of how a diverse workforce strengthens an organization by examining behaviors, both unintentional and intentional, that can discriminate or contribute to a hostile work environment.
2. Cover topics such as defining diversity and exploring positive reinforcing behaviors that show respect and appreciation for students who are different than you.
3. Cover topics such as exploring the challenges faced by transgender students and how to communicate with respect and caring, what it means to be transgender, and ways to promote tolerance in the classroom.
4. Cover topics such as challenges faced by students who are LGBTQ+, how to help these students feel safe and respected, and ways to create positive school culture.
5. Develop an awareness and understanding of implicit racial bias and learn strategies for overcoming bias and developing cultural competencies so that you can work effectively and collaboratively with all students.
